Joelle Lush is a Vancouver-based vocalist known for her warm, soulful interpretations of jazz, gospel, soul, and blues. Originally from Newfoundland, she brings the emotional directness of her church roots together with sophisticated jazz sensibility developed through extensive training with acclaimed vocalists Jeri Brown, Dee Daniels, Lindsay Garnet, and Jennifer Scott, including studies in France.
Influenced by Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, and Whitney Houston, Joelle approaches classic repertoire with authenticity and lived experience. A regular at 2nd Floor Gastown, Apollo's Restaurant, and Vancouver's Jazz Vespers programs, she has also performed at Guilt & Co, Frankie's Jazz Club, and sang at the inaugural PROJECT HOPE benefit for ALS at Christ Church Cathedral.
After more than two decades of dedication to her craft—including navigating chronic illness with resilience—Joelle is embarking on her first professional recording project, capturing interpretations shaped by hope, loss, and the transformative power of perseverance and love.
